Editing Cards with Pro
Use the full Share Studio editor to turn a starter design into your own reusable card. Decorative card artwork and design previews do not animate on their own. Brief interface transitions can still respond to your actions when Reduce Motion is off. The exported image is static.
The editor prepares only the journal photos painted by the current card. Hidden elements and unused collection photos do not start image work. A photo added by a later design or element change can show a brief placeholder while it is prepared. Once visible, the mounted photo stays on the canvas through unrelated edits even if the shared image cache needs room. The export path renders the finished card at full quality.
Backgrounds and color
Section titled “Backgrounds and color”Open Background to choose:
- The fragrance photo when one is available.
- A custom image from Photos or Files.
- The scent’s aura.
- A prepared paint color.
- A custom color and light or dark tone.
The scent-aura tile is a compact still preview of the actual card background, including its deeper tone and legibility shading. Changing the card size also updates that preview for portrait or landscape shading.
On iPhone and iPad, the custom image control opens a compact menu for Photo Library, Choose File, and Paste Image. Photo Library then opens one full-screen system picker and returns to the same card and panel after selection or cancellation. If the selected image cannot finish transferring within 20 seconds, Orrique shows a retry message instead of leaving the editor waiting.
When a photo is active, use its fit, fill, position, and zoom controls to frame it. Open Color to choose the scent signature, an aura color, a neutral, or a custom accent. Accent-linked headings, rules, fills, outlines, and decorative details update together.
Turn on Gradient beneath a manual paint to choose separate Start and End colors, then set the direction with Gradient angle. The same editor is available for the card surface and accent, text and fingerprint ink, text backgrounds, logos, image mats and borders, element and section outlines, shadows, comparison accents, and performance bar parts. Choosing a solid swatch returns that paint to a solid color. Auto Background or Aura paint remains live and takes priority until you turn it off.
Text and supported text-bearing details also offer Auto color. Choose Aura to make their ink follow the current content’s live scent aura, including when a reusable design is opened for another fragrance. Choose Off to return to the element’s saved static color.
Reset zoom normally uses a short transition. With Reduce Motion on, the canvas returns to its fitted position immediately.
Themes and typography
Section titled “Themes and typography”Theme applies a coordinated surface and accent direction. Font mood applies a coordinated type direction across text blocks.
An individual text block follows the active font mood until you change its own type controls. It then becomes a deliberate local override and offers Return to font mood.
Open a block’s Font control to browse Orrique’s prepared choices or the Installed category. Search can find any font currently available to Orrique through the system font catalog. Mac shows local fonts available to the app, while iPhone and iPad show fonts installed and available on that device. A saved design keeps the font identifier. If another device does not have that font, Orrique uses the block’s safe system fallback so its text remains visible.
Use a broad theme or font mood first, then make local changes only where they improve the card. This keeps a reusable design coherent across different journal content.
Add and organize elements
Section titled “Add and organize elements”Open Add to place supported text, shapes, photos, editable marks, and journal-bound details on the card.
Select an element to edit its content and appearance. Depending on the type, controls can include:
- Position and dimensions.
- Rotation and opacity.
- Fill, stroke, and corner treatment.
- Typography, alignment, and fitting.
- Image fit and crop.
- Pinning and spacing.
- Copy style and Paste style.
Turn artwork into an editable mark
Section titled “Turn artwork into an editable mark”- Open Add, then Shapes & Text, and choose Mark.
- Choose Photo Library for a raster image, Choose Image or SVG for a supported file, or Paste Image. You can also drop a supported image or SVG onto the Mark tile where drag and drop is available.
- Wait while Orrique creates the mark and adds it to the card.
An SVG keeps its rendered curves, strokes, holes, and shapes without sending them through raster contour tracing. Orrique stores a transparent, recolorable rendering of the SVG rather than an editable SVG document. It trims the SVG viewport to the rendered artwork, keeps one safety pixel, and creates the element at the artwork’s real aspect ratio. A raster source uses the same linework parser as Orrique brand logos, normalizes its linework to the visible ink bounds, and also starts at its real aspect ratio. Transparent artwork or a high-contrast image usually gives a raster import the clearest result.
Select the new Mark to set a solid color or gradient, use Background or Aura auto color, align the artwork inside its frame, and adjust its position, dimensions, rotation, opacity, outline, shadow, blur, attachment, and layer order. Aspect lock begins on so width and height changes keep the tight artwork proportions. These controls work for preserved SVG artwork and extracted raster linework.
Every new Follow block placement begins with Ride Ink. The Ink and Box choices remain available for every placement. Ride Ink uses the visible content boundary on both linked elements. That can be the final wrapped, shrunk, or truncated text glyphs, a brand mark, the nontransparent bottle outline in a floating cutout photo, a shape or symbol, a packed grid, or a composite field such as rating stars. Photo fit, padding, alignment, crop, and mirroring are included. A visible photo mat or border becomes the outer ink boundary.
Choose Above, Below, Left, or Right for a directional relationship. Choose Center to link both elements by their visible centers for Ride Ink or by their frame centers for Ride Box. X and Y offsets remain available for a deliberate adjustment. For directional placement, Align X or Align Y can match the same visible left, center, right, top, middle, or bottom point on both elements.
Control a scent fingerprint
Section titled “Control a scent fingerprint”Select a fingerprint to choose whether its axis labels are automatic, always shown, or hidden. Label controls include font, weight, size, uppercase, solid or gradient color, and live Aura color. Labels remain visible by default at smaller block sizes unless you explicitly hide them or keep an older automatic readability threshold.
Use Layers when elements overlap. The layer list gives every element a stable selection target and lets you move it forward or backward without trying to tap through the canvas. A group appears as one expandable row rather than a row for every member.
Group elements into one design
Section titled “Group elements into one design”- Open Layers and choose Group.
- Select at least two elements or existing group rows.
- Choose Group again to create the combined design.
- Select the group on the canvas or in Layers.
The first selection belongs to the complete group. Its single transform frame covers every member, including rotated text, images, preserved SVG marks, extracted raster marks, symbols, shapes, and fragrance details. Dragging, nudging, rotating, duplicating, deleting, locking, hiding, or changing layer order acts on the group as one unit.
Corner resizing scales the complete design proportionally from the opposite corner. Text size, tracking, line spacing, strokes, outlines, shadows, and internal spacing scale with the element frames. Preserved SVG artwork keeps the same rendered curves and source-backed mark data while the group changes size.
Choose Edit group contents, double-tap the selected group, or expand its selected Layers row when you need one member. The child elements then become selectable and keep their own type-specific controls. Choose Done to return to the complete group. With a hardware keyboard, Return enters the selected group and Escape exits.
Grouping an existing group with another element makes one flat group. It does not create hidden nested groups. The protected Orrique mark cannot be included. Ungroup returns the members to ordinary layer rows without replacing their element content.
Edit on the canvas
Section titled “Edit on the canvas”Drag an element or selected group to move it. Use resize and rotation controls when available. Alignment and distribution actions help maintain deliberate spacing between several selected elements.
The selection outline connects the same four element corners as the resize handles. The larger transparent move area, finger-friendly handle targets, and rotation control do not move or enlarge that visible box. Ordinary element content stays inside the box as you resize it, including a fitted brand-name Logo fallback, heatmap, grid, and composite field. An effect you explicitly add, such as outline, shadow, blur, or bleed, can extend past the base frame.
The outline and handles also keep a consistent screen size and remain on the rendered element when you expand or collapse the iPhone tool shelf, resize an iPad window, or change Split View.
Snapping uses visible card and layer guides. A direct move, nudge, resize, alignment, distribution, or group move makes the new placement authoritative. Internal Follow block relationships stay together during a group move or proportional resize. Rotating a group bakes its current placement because cardinal Above, Below, Left, and Right rules cannot describe an arbitrary angle. If an older external edge rule conflicts with a direct action, Orrique releases the rule instead of snapping the element back later.
Undo and Redo treat broad operations, such as applying a design or resizing a group, as a single change.
Work across sizes
Section titled “Work across sizes”Choose how an element behaves when the card changes between Portrait, Square, Story, and Wide:
- Scale with the design.
- Hold its size and position relationship.
- Keep a top, center, or bottom relationship.
- Stretch between selected margins.
- Use an intentional custom frame for one size.
When a curated design includes a dedicated layout for the selected size, Share Studio loads that exact layout on the first visit. It keeps a separate working edit for each visited size, so returning to Portrait does not replace the Portrait changes with the Wide changes. A built-in design or My Design continues adapting as one reusable layout.
Share Studio does not show fit warnings or automatically repair a consumer card. Share and Copy preserve the current composition, including deliberate overlap and artwork that reaches or crosses an edge.
Control the Orrique mark
Section titled “Control the Orrique mark”Pro can move, recolor, or remove the corner Orrique mark. On the free plan the mark remains protected and routes to the Pro explanation when selected.
Save the finished design
Section titled “Save the finished design”- Check each card size you expect to use.
- Revise only the elements you intentionally want to change.
- Open My Designs and save the layout with a clear name.
- Reopen the saved design with different content to confirm its bindings remain useful.
- Share or copy the final image exactly as previewed.
Named designs and referenced custom images follow you privately when iCloud Sync is on. Current unsaved recovery work and unfinished renders remain on the device doing that work.
