Live Wear Sessions
A live wear session follows one fragrance or layering formula from the moment you put it on until you finish tracking it. The timer, phase, notes, and optional check-ins become one Diary entry when you end the session.
Start tracking
Section titled “Start tracking”You can start from Today’s Pick, a fragrance page, a log draft, a formula, Siri, or a Shortcut when that surface offers Track this wear.
- Choose the fragrance or formula you are wearing.
- Tap Track or Track this wear.
- Return to the Wearing now card on Today whenever you want to check the timer or add an observation.
Only one live session runs at a time. Starting a session from an existing Diary entry continues from that entry’s logged time and keeps its existing check-ins.
Follow the dry-down
Section titled “Follow the dry-down”The live card shows the running time and the current top, heart, or base phase. You can add any of these optional check-ins when they are useful:
The elapsed time, phase, and guided prompt update together once per minute, so the information on the card stays aligned without running separate refresh loops.
- Top notes, Heart notes, or Base notes
- Too strong
- Compliment
- Headache
- A short timestamped note
Check-ins are evidence for your own journal. You do not need to complete every phase or add an observation before ending the session.
End or discard the session
Section titled “End or discard the session”- Tap End session when you are finished tracking.
- Orrique saves the wear to your Diary with its elapsed time and check-ins.
- Use the short rating prompt if you want to record how it wore, or skip it and rate later.
Choose Discard when the session was started by mistake and should not create a Diary entry. A brief Undo remains available after an end or discard so an accidental tap can be recovered.
Where the session appears
Section titled “Where the session appears”- iPhone and iPad: the session appears in Orrique. A Live Activity can also show it on the Lock Screen and, on supported iPhones, in the Dynamic Island.
- Mac: the same live tracking flow is available in the app and from supported menu-bar actions.
- Apple Watch: the active wear takes over the paired Watch’s daily focus and complication. You can add supported check-ins and end it through the phone connection.
- Widgets: Scent of the Day and Scent Fingerprint prioritize the active wear. Medium and large Scent of the Day widgets offer Tracking and Check in instead of an unrelated pick action.
- iCloud Sync: the running card can appear on your other signed-in Orrique devices. Ending or discarding it clears the synced session there too.
The Lock Screen Live Activity keeps the scent identity, elapsed timer, dry-down progress, current phase, and Check-in action inside the system card. VoiceOver announces the scent, elapsed time, and wear progress instead of hiding the visual timer and progress bar. The card shows at most one short detail line. Your latest observation takes priority over a guided cue, while the complete session remains available in Orrique. At accessibility text sizes, open Orrique for that secondary detail; the identity and essential controls stay visible on the Lock Screen.
System permissions and Lock Screen presentation remain specific to each device.
If the session is missing
Section titled “If the session is missing”- Open Today and pull down to refresh.
- Confirm that the session was not already ended or discarded on another synced device.
- On Apple Watch, open Orrique on the paired iPhone so the latest state can transfer.
- If only the Live Activity is missing, check the device’s Live Activities and notification settings. The in-app session can continue without Lock Screen presentation.
