Pack for a Trip

iPhone, iPad, MacBeginner3 min readSyncs with iCloud

Pack for a trip turns your collection into a small, smart travel capsule. You tell Orrique how long you are away, the weather, and the kinds of days you have planned, and it picks the fewest bottles that cover it all, one scent per job, each with a line on why it earned its spot.

Reach for this when you are heading away and do not want to overpack your fragrances, or when you want a quick, sensible shortlist instead of deciding bottle by bottle. It only ever draws from what you own, so it answers “what should I bring”, not “what should I buy”.

  1. Open your shelves or wardrobe from the Collection tab, then tap Pack for a trip (the suitcase icon) in the toolbar.

  2. Set how long you are away with the nights stepper (1 to 30).

  3. Choose the weather for the trip: Warm, Mild, or Cold. This nudges the picks toward scents that suit the climate.

  4. Under Pack for, turn on the settings you have planned: Daytime, Evenings out, and Something formal. Pick at least one.

  5. Your capsule appears below and updates as you change anything. Each pick shows a role tag (Daytime, Evening, or Formal) and a short reason it was chosen.

  • The smallest capsule that covers your trip. Orrique starts with one scent per setting you chose, then adds a versatile backup for longer trips (roughly one extra every four nights, kept small so a capsule stays a capsule).
  • Proven favorites are favored. When two bottles fit the same job, the one you reach for more often wins, so the capsule leans on scents you already trust.
  • It only uses bottles you own and can wear. Wishlist items and scents you have used up are left out.
  • Gaps are called out. If nothing in your wardrobe suits one of your settings, Orrique tells you what is not covered, so you can pack around it or let it go.

Once a capsule is built, you can take it with you:

  • Share this capsule opens the share-card editor with your picks, so you can save or send a polished image. See Sharing a Scent Card.
  • Copy as a checklist copies a plain-text list (each scent with its role and reason) you can paste into Notes, a message, or a packing list.
  • Pack for a trip is free, and it works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
  • The capsule is a suggestion, not a saved list. Change the nights, weather, or settings any time to rebuild it; nothing is stored until you share or copy it.
  • Tagging your scents with occasions and keeping bottle status current makes the picks sharper. See Your Collection.
