Ask Orrique

Ask Orrique is the advisor in Discover. It answers questions using your own collection, containers, diary, current context, and verified catalog facts.

Ask a question

1. Open Discover and tap Ask Orrique.
2. Choose a starter prompt or type your own question.
3. For Compare bottles, select two owned fragrances from the search sheets.
4. Read the answer and its proof cards. Tap a fragrance card to open its details.
5. Use a suggested follow-up when you want to refine the same answer.

You can cancel while Orrique is reading, edit the question, and send it again.

When Reduce Motion is on, a new answer appears without an animated scroll transition. The answer and evidence do not change.

Questions it can answer

Ask Orrique is strongest when the answer can be proven from your shelf or diary. Useful questions include:

• What should I wear today?
• What have I not worn recently?
• Which container should I finish next?
• Where is the clearest gap in my collection?
• How do these two owned bottles compare?
• What could I layer with this bottle?
• Which owned scent offers the best value from my saved prices and wears?
• What did I wear to work recently?

Starter prompts only appear when your current data can support them. For example, Finish next needs measured or logged use, while a gap question needs enough wearable fragrances to compare.

How answers stay grounded

Replies lead with the useful answer, followed by compact proof where it helps. A fragrance proof card opens that fragrance. A layering answer keeps the two bottles separate and can prepare the pair in the Layering Room.

Orrique checks model-written answers against its shelf, diary, catalog, and tool evidence. It also rejects answers that repeat internal prompt formatting. If the written answer cannot be verified, it uses the manual advisor or explains the exact information needed next.

It still works without Apple Intelligence

When Apple Intelligence is unavailable, still preparing its on-device model, or missing its model assets, the manual shelf advisor can still answer supported questions. Apple Intelligence can make an answer more conversational, but it does not replace the checked evidence.

Context used for wear questions

When automatic weather is on, a wear suggestion uses cached current weather when possible. It can make a short weather check when needed, then fall back to weather in today’s diary and finally the calendar season.

When automatic weather is off, Ask Orrique does not request location. It uses diary weather or the season instead. The answer identifies the context it used.

Wishlist, tried-only, empty, unavailable, let-go, and disliked fragrances stay out of wear and rediscovery picks.

If an answer is unavailable

• Add more bottles, notes, containers, or diary wears if the answer names missing evidence.
• Confirm Apple Intelligence is on if you want conversational written replies.
• Try a narrower question about one bottle, a recent diary period, or two selected fragrances.
• Check Troubleshooting if the advisor never opens or remains unavailable.
