# Siri and Shortcuts

> Log a scent, open Orrique destinations, ask journal questions, and build personal automations with the app's supported actions.

Orrique provides App Intents for common journal tasks. Some act in the background and confirm immediately. Others open the app when you need to choose or review something.

Orrique also appears in the Shortcuts app's library with a set of ready-made shortcuts, one for each request below. They work as soon as the app is installed, with no setup, and the same phrases work when spoken to Siri.

## Useful Siri requests

| “Show today in Orrique” | Opens Today. |
| “Wear [scent name] in Orrique” | Logs that scent with its usual settings. |
| “Log a scent in Orrique” | Asks which scent, then continues the log flow. |
| “Log a formula in Orrique” | Opens the formula logging flow. |
| “Add a scent in Orrique” | Opens add fragrance. |
| “Rate yesterday in Orrique” | Opens the pending rating flow. |
| “What did I last wear in Orrique?” | Answers from your journal without changing it. |
| “What is my most worn scent in Orrique?” | Answers from your wear history. |
| “What should I wear today in Orrique?” | Speaks today's pick and its reason, the same suggestion the Today screen shows. |

If Siri cannot distinguish a fragrance name, open the Shortcuts action and choose the scent explicitly.

## Build a Shortcut

1. Open the Shortcuts app and create a shortcut.
2. Tap **Add Action** and search for Orrique.
3. Choose an action such as **Quick-Log a Scent**, **Open a Scent**, **Log a Formula**, or **Open the Layering Room**.
4. Fill in the parameters you want to keep fixed.
5. Save and run the shortcut.

The full log action can include sprays, placement, notes, and date. Leaving optional values empty lets Orrique use the action's documented defaults or continue the choice in the app.

## Wear-session actions

When a live wear is active, Shortcuts can expose actions for opening the wear ritual, reading current guidance, getting a recap, adding a note, logging a check-in, or ending the session. Read-only guidance and recap actions do not save a new Diary entry.

## Privacy and reliability

- Read-only questions use your local Orrique journal.
- Background logging enters the same pending-wear path used by widgets and controls, so the app can reconcile the result after a cold launch.
- Orrique confirms background actions rather than making a silent journal change.
- A named scent is safer than relying on an ambiguous spoken match.

> **Use explicit choices in automations.**
> For a scheduled or unattended shortcut, configure the exact scent or formula in Shortcuts. This avoids a voice prompt that cannot be answered while the automation is running.

> The separate Control Center **Quick-Log a Scent** control can use the prepared pick before today's first wear. After a wear exists, an unconfigured control asks you to choose a scent rather than silently logging another recommendation. A Shortcut with an explicit scent is unaffected.
