# Shelves and Wardrobe

> Create and manage fragrance shelves, arrange your Wardrobe, rediscover resting scents, and keep each container in the right place.

Shelves group fragrances by place, season, mood, project, or any system you choose. The Wardrobe turns those shelves into a visual browsing space.

## Put fragrances on a shelf

1. Open Collection.
2. Open a fragrance's actions, or enter multi-select for several fragrances.
3. Choose **Shelf** or **Move to shelf**.
4. Pick an existing shelf or create a new one.

A fragrance can be organized without changing its Owned, Trials, Wishlist, or Archive status.

## Open the Wardrobe

Open Collection's secondary actions and choose **Wardrobe**. From there you can browse shelves, open one shelf, change its presentation, and manage the fragrances it contains.

Shelf membership and Wardrobe layouts sync through iCloud. Saved searches also sync, but they remain reusable filters rather than shelves.

## Shelves and saved searches

- Use a **shelf** for a deliberate group that you maintain, such as Office, Summer, Decants, or Partner's shelf.
- Use a **saved search** for a rule-based view, such as woody favorites rated 4 or higher.

Search results change automatically as fragrance data changes. A shelf changes only when you add or remove items.

## Resting shelf

The Resting shelf is an automatic rediscovery view. It surfaces available fragrances you have not worn recently. It does not move, archive, or retag anything.

Open a resting fragrance to review it or log a wear. The view refreshes as your diary changes.

## Shelf stock

Shelf inventory can highlight containers below your chosen Low stock threshold. Change that percentage in Settings. The default is 15 percent remaining.

This differs from the fixed running-low rule used for Finish the bottle, which begins after 80 percent of a tracked container has been used. See [Containers and Stock](https://help.orrique.com/Containers_And_Stock/#running-low-has-two-meanings).

## Scent Librarian

With Pro and Apple Intelligence, a shelf detail page can show a short Scent Librarian read of the fragrances on that shelf. It appears only when there is enough grounded shelf detail to describe a meaningful pattern.

See [AI Written Reads](https://help.orrique.com/AI_Written_Reads/#scent-librarian).

## Pack for a trip

Trip packing creates a temporary capsule from the fragrances you can wear. It is designed for a specific trip, while shelves are ongoing organization.

## Remove or reorganize a shelf

Open the shelf's menu to rename, rearrange, or remove it. Removing a shelf does not delete the fragrances. They remain in Collection with their statuses and containers intact.

> **Keep the system simple.**
> Start with a few shelves you will actually use. Saved searches are usually better for combinations of rating, family, notes, and status.

See [Search and Filtering](https://help.orrique.com/Search_And_Filtering/) for saved searches and [Your Collection](https://help.orrique.com/Collection/) for batch selection.
