# Notifications and Reminders

> Choose Orrique's morning, next-day, live-wear, and planned-wear reminders, including timing, sound, privacy, and recovery.

Orrique uses local notifications for a small set of journal prompts. Each device manages its own system permission and scheduled deliveries.

## Choose your reminders

1. Open **Settings**, then **Notifications**.
2. Turn on the reminders you want.
3. Choose the morning and next-day times where available.
4. Turn on **Silent (no sound)** if all Orrique reminders should arrive quietly.

Available reminders include:

- **Morning scent prompt:** opens the log flow for the day.
- **Next-day rating reminder:** returns to a wear waiting for reflection.
- **Wear session reminders:** a Pro dry-down nudge during a tracked wear and a recap when it ends.
- **Planned-wear reminder:** created when you plan a future Calendar event and notifications are available.

Pro

Wear-session reminders and Calendar Planning require Pro. Morning and next-day journal reminders do not.

## Allow notifications

The first enabled reminder asks for system permission. If you decline, Orrique keeps the preference visible but cannot schedule delivery until notifications are allowed in the device's Settings app.

During a fresh full setup, **Scent reminders** begins on with the other device helpers. Continuing from **Choose what helps** records both the morning and next-day choices and immediately asks for notification permission before any community disclosure. **Skip Setup** does not ask and leaves unseen reminder choices off.

On Welcome Back, the single **Scent reminders** switch reflects whether either synced reminder preference is on. Leaving it unchanged preserves the two separate choices. If either is on and this device has not decided notification permission, **Open my shelf** asks then. Changing the switch updates both reminder types.

The reminder choices and times can follow you through iCloud. System notification permission and the actual scheduled deliveries do not transfer between devices. Allow notifications separately on each iPhone, iPad, or Mac where you want delivery.

The Settings summary keeps the reminder names visible when they are selected. It says **Checking permission** while the device status loads. If this device still needs permission, it says **Permission needed**. If permission was declined, it says **Permission denied** and uses a crossed-out bell. Open **Notifications** for the device-specific status and the **Open Settings** recovery action.

## Open or act on a reminder

- A morning prompt opens Log Wear.
- A next-day prompt opens the rating flow.
- A planned-wear notification can open a dated log draft or dismiss the plan reminder.
- A live-wear prompt returns to the active session.

Saving the final log is always your choice. A reminder opening a draft does not save a wear by itself.

## If reminders do not arrive

1. Confirm the reminder is on in Orrique.
2. Open the device Settings app and confirm Orrique notifications are allowed.
3. Check Focus, Scheduled Summary, and the selected delivery time.
4. For planned wears, confirm the event is still in the future and the plan still exists.
5. For live-wear reminders, confirm the session is still active and Pro is available.

> **Silent delivery.**
> Silent removes notification sound. Focus and system notification settings can still delay or hide presentation.
