# Containers and Stock

> Track bottles, samples, decants, and testers, including quantity, remaining sprays, price, state, and where each container lives.

A fragrance can have several physical containers. Track each bottle, sample, [decant](https://help.orrique.com/Glossary/#term-decant), or [tester](https://help.orrique.com/Glossary/#term-tester) separately so Orrique knows what is on hand, what it cost, and what may be running low.

## Add a container

1. Open a fragrance in Collection.
2. Find **Your journey** and tap **Add a container**.
3. Choose Bottle, Decant, Sample, or Tester.
4. Add size, price, total sprays, and location when useful.
5. Leave the state as **Have it**, or choose **Used up** or **Let go**.
6. Save the container.

Tap an existing container in Your journey to edit it or remove that specific container.

## What each field does

- **Type** identifies the physical format.
- **Size** records milliliters, including decimal sizes.
- **Price** contributes to spending and [cost-per-wear](https://help.orrique.com/Glossary/#term-cost-per-wear) insights.
- **Total sprays** enables the remaining-fill estimate.
- **Where it lives** records a [shelf](https://help.orrique.com/Glossary/#term-shelf) or free-form location.
- **State** tells Orrique whether the container is still on hand.

## Container states

| State | Meaning | Counts as on hand |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Have it | You currently keep this container | Yes |
| Used up | You finished it | No |
| Let go | You sold, gave away, or no longer keep it | No |

Used-up and let-go containers remain in the journey history. Removing a container deletes that record instead.

## How containers affect fragrance status

| Current record | Fragrance status |
| --- | --- |
| A full bottle on hand | Owned |
| Only a sample, decant, or tester on hand | Trials |
| Containers exist, but all are used up or let go | Empty |
| No container, but at least one wear exists | Tried |
| No container and saved for later | Wishlist |

You can set a status directly while no held container exists. Once a held container exists, container state takes priority.

## Track remaining sprays

If you enter total sprays, a fill gauge estimates what remains. Each logged wear subtracts the sprays-per-wear value from an eligible tracked container. Orrique uses the held tracked container with the fewest sprays remaining first.

When a tracked container reaches zero, it becomes Used up automatically. Containers without a spray count are never decremented.

## Running low has two meanings

Container and shelf alerts use different rules:

- A tracked container is **running low** when at least 80 percent of its sprays have been used.
- The **Low stock** shelf filter uses the remaining-percentage threshold chosen in Settings. Its default is 15 percent remaining.

The first rule powers finish-the-bottle suggestions. The second lets you choose how early a shelf inventory view should warn you.

> **Why the percentages differ.**
> Finish the bottle needs a consistent definition across all users. Shelf inventory is personal, so its warning threshold is configurable.

## Prices and value

Each container can have its own price. A sample, decant, tester, and later bottle can all contribute to the same fragrance's cost-per-wear and spending history.

Turning on Hide Prices removes those amounts from Collection, the Scent Atlas Value lens, and applicable share cards. It does not delete the saved prices.

## Finish the bottle

Add the Finish the bottle card to Today to surface:

- held tracked containers that are at least 80 percent used
- owned scents that have not been worn in about two months and have little overall use

Tap a result to open the fragrance, log a wear, or mark the near-empty container Used up.

## Fix an incorrect amount

Open the container and correct its total sprays or state. If wear logs used the wrong sprays-per-wear value, update future tracking from the relevant settings or logging flow. Existing diary entries remain part of your history.
